The legislator said he was expecting either the ruling National Conference or Opposition PDP to bring in the resolution.

“If the chief minister of Tamil Nadu (J Jayalalithaa) can move a resolution (for amnesty for Rajiv Gandhi’s killers) and Punjab chief minister (Parkash Singh Badal) can write to the Prime Minister for Davinder Pal Singh Bhullar, why should there be such a hue and cry on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s tweet on Afzal Guru?” he asked.

Rashid said he expected Omar to support him in the stand taken by him on the issue. “I hope the major mainstream political parties will come together on the issue,” he added.
