EC notice to Chiranjeevi for making ‘objectionable’ remarks

Chiranjeevi allegedly said the sanctity of temple town Tirupati would be lost if YSR Cong was voted.

The Election Commission today served a notice on Rajya Sabha member K Chiranjeevi for allegedly making certain objectionable remarks during the campaigning for by-election in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati Assembly constituency last month,sources said.

Chiranjeevi allegedly remarked that the sanctity of temple town Tirupati would be lost if YSR Congress was voted in the bypoll.

Based on a complaint filed by the YSR Congress Party,the Election Commission issued a notice to the actor-turned- politician,asking him to give an explanation by tomorrow,official sources said.
