Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday hoped that the issue of Jats demanding reservation in government jobs under Other Backward Classes (OBC) category will be resolved soon. "We have already written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking him to provide quota for the community in Central government jobs under the OBC category," he said. "The agitators should not take any step which could cause damage to national property," Hooda said here while replying to the questions of mediapersons. The blockade of rail tracks by the Jat community have not only adversely affected the generation of power but have also hampered education of children, the Chief Minister said. When asked to comment on the election of the president of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee,Hooda said that the Committee has passed a resolution giving the right of appointment to AICC President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi. He said that the pace of development in the state had accelerated during the tenure of the present Congress-led government. The state Budget presented in the Assembly is better than that of the previous state government led by Om Prakash Chautala.
