One Naxal activist was killed while two CRPF jawans were injured in an an exchange of fire in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh,police said on Saturday.
Superintendent of Police of Dantewada Ankit Garg said a Naxal wearing a uniform was killed in an encounter at village Neelavaram under the Sukma police jurisdiction.
He said the police alongwith jawans of a CRPF team were conducting searches when they came across a group of outlaws at the forest near the village. The Naxals opened fire and the police and the CRPF team retaliated and in the exchange of fire,one of the Naxals was killed while others fled from the spot. Two CRPF jawans were also injured in the incident.
Police recovered a loaded pistol and a country-made revolver from the spot. The Naxal killed in the encounter could not be identified,he said.
The two injured CRPF jawans were admitted to a local hospital and their condition is stable.
