Paswan keeps distance from NDA on price rise

LJP leader Ram Vilas Paswan said his party was not joining hands with the BJP-led NDA on the price rise issue.

With the NDA set to confront the government in Parliament on the price rise issue,LJP leader Ram Vilas Paswan today said his party was not joining hands with the BJP-led alliance on the matter.

“We condemn price rise but our LJP-RJD combine has nothing to do with the BJP or NDA on the issue. We are not joining hands with the BJP,” the newly elected Rajya Sabha MP told reporters outside Parliament.

“We are very much against price rise because it is affecting the common man. We had also given a Bihar bandh call separately against price rise. But we will not do anything which will look like joining hands with BJP or NDA,” said Paswan, who had lost the Lok Sabha elections in 2009 and got elected to the Upper House from Bihar with the support of RJD.

The Opposition is likely to bring an adjournment motion on price rise issue in Parliament tomorrow.
