A prominent Hindu religious body criticised Baba Ramdev for describing the joint committee to draft the Jan Lokpal Bill as being ‘plagued by dynasty’,saying it shows the yoga guru’s frustration over not being included in the panel.
“Ramdev has appointed his brothers,brothers-in-law and other close relatives as heads of various establishments and factories run by his organisation. When he himself is promoting dynasty, how can he oppose others on this ground,Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP) spokesman Baba Hathyogi said.
“It seems the yoga guru is frustrated for not being taken into the panel,” he said.
The Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad is the apex organisation of Hindu saints and ascetics.
Objecting to the presence of father-son duo Shanti and Prashant Bhushan on the joint panel to draft the anti-graft bill,Baba Ramdev had yesterday said in a statement that the committee was “plagued by dynasty” and nepotism which could defeat its purpose.
However,he backtracked on his statement today saying he had no problem with inclusion of the father-son duo, both of them lawyers,in the drafting panel.
