Yoga guru Ramdev today strongly opposed FDI in multi-brand retail saying the decision to allow global supermarkets to set up retail stores in the country will result in additional financial burden on the common man. Ramdev also appealed to UPA's allies,including TMC and SP to withdraw support from the government at the Centre in protest against the move. He said that there will be a dharna against the "wrong policies" of the Centre at Jantar Mantar on October 2 which will also mark the beginning of the third phase of Bharat Swabhiman Yatra.
