Uttarakhand chopper crash fails to deter IAF’s rescue operation

Reports say 20 people,including the crew,are feared dead in the crash on Tuesday.

The crash of an Indian Air Force (IAF) chopper dealt a severe blow to the rescue operations in flood-hit Uttarakhand. Reports say 20 people,including the crew,are feared dead in the crash on Tuesday.

The IAF is leading the rescue and relief operation ever since the rain followed by cloudbursts and landslides brought unprecedented devastation in Uttarakhand.

IAF choppers have rescued thousands of pilgrims from Kedarnath,Badrinath and other religious places in Uttarakhand. However,the crash of the IAF chopper compounded the tragedy.

Despite the crash,IAF has resumed its rescue mission and assured people that their work will continue till the last survivor is brought to safety.
