India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ in the early hours of Wednesday last week, hitting nine terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). This marked the most expansive and widespread retaliation by India in recent years, since the Balakot airstrikes in 2019 and the surgical strikes following the Uri attack in 2016.
