Agriculture technocrats in Jammu and Kashmir today called off their month-long hunger strike following an assurance by the government that their demands,including regularisation of services,would be considered.
The technocrats called off their stir after the advisor to Chief Minister,Mubarak Gul,assured the Jammu and Kashmir Agricultural Technocrats Association that all their genuine demands would be redressed.
Gul,who met protesting agriculturist today,said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is committed to resolving their demands regarding absorption in government jobs on seniority basis,enhancement in stipend and various other issues.
Following an assurance by him,the protesters called off their strike.
