The CPI-ML,which contested the just concluded Lok Sabha polls in alliance with CPI and CPI-M in Bihar and drew blank,on Monday said NDA’s electoral performance was the outcome of people’s anger against the “RJD kind of politics” and not a vote for Nitish Kumar government.
Stating that the outcome of the elections in Bihar appeared at variance with the national verdict,CPI-ML general secretary Dipanker Bhattacharya said “It is a vote against the people’s fear of RJD’s resurgence and NDA reaped the maximum benefit of this fear.”
Bhattacharya said,”Bihar has heaved a sigh of relief following
During electioneering, support for Left candidates was visible but it was not translated into votes,he said, adding that the party would review the reasons behind the debacle.
Stating that Congress had managed to come close to the majority mark in the absence of a proper alternative, the CPI-ML leader said “this relative preference for the Congress by no means amounts to a popular endorsement for the pro-corporate economic polices and pro-US foreign policy pursued by the UPA government as these policies were responsible for all round crisis.”
