CUJ issue: Hunger strike enters 11th day

Demanding that Central University Jammu (CUJ) should be made functional immediately,Jammu Province People’s Forum (JPPF) hunger strike entered 11th day on Thursday amid protests led by its president Pavitar Singh,activists of JPPF on Thursday continued their relay hunger strike for the 11th day at historic Purani Mandi park in old Jammu city against the alleged failure of state and Central government to appoint Vice-Chancellor of CUJ and make it functional.

The strike will continue till the demand is met,Singh said,adding daily protests will be held if the government failed to announce the VC of Central University Jammu soon.

JPPF is an apex body of various groups and forums – political parties,socio-cultural organisations,Trade and Industries Associations,Bar Association,Students and Academic federations fighting for an early start of the varsity.

The strike which began from July 25 and will conclude on August 8.
