Hardline Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani today said he was not against talks between India and Pakistan but the dialogue process will not resolve Kashmir issue unless the Centre accepts the “hard realities”.

“We are not against talks…. Talks are one of the ways to find solutions but until India does not accept the hard realities about Jammu and Kashmir,no solution can be found,” Geelani told reporters in reply to a question about the Foriegn Secretary talks between India and Pakistan.

He said this is an inference based on experiences of the past dialogue processes.

“Until India does not accept the disputed nature of Jammu and Kashmir in clear terms, until what (Union Home Minister) Chidambaram sahab himself said that Kashmir problem is about broken promises… until the promises are not fulfilled, dialogue process will have no result,” he said.
