Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Friday granted bail to a lecturer,who was arrested on charges of setting a question paper,which could have disturbed peace in the Valley.
Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain granted bail to Noor Mohammad Bhat,a lecturer at Gandhi Memorial College.
Bhat’s bail application was earlier rejected by Principal District and Sessions Judge B L Bhat on Dec 18.
Bhat was arrested on December 10 for setting the paper which asked students about their opinion on the summer unrest in Kashmir.
The students appearing in the English paper for BA,BSc and B Com annual examinations were surprised to find questions related to the five-month unrest in Kashmir.
One of the questions asked was,”Are the stone-pelters the real heroes?” The students were also asked to translate from Urdu into English,a paragraph laden with allegations of human rights violations by security forces.
