Ramdev wants Centre to expedite formation of Telangana

Yoga guru says he favours smaller states for good administration and development.

Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has said that the Centre should “immediately” come out with a “clear view” over Telangana and not have any objections in granting separate statehood to the region.

“Pure Telangana me naye Bharat ke nirman ke saath saath ek naye Telangana ke nirman ki awaz uth rahi hain.” (A voice for the creation of Telangana besides new India is growing louder in the region),said Ramdev at a Yoga camp here.

He said the government should immediately take a clear decision on the issue adding that the Centre should not have any objections to carving out Telangana as it was an independent state earlier.

Ramdev said he favoured smaller states for the sake of administrative convenience and faster development.

He expressed concern on the issue of rising corruption and black money in the country adding that people of the region always wanted a separate Telangana state.
