Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today said the total fund spent in constructions made in the name of Dalit icons were less than one per cent of the state’s budget.
She said while reacting to HRD Minister Kapil Sibal’s statement that UP government was more concerned about making parks and memorials than spending for implementing Right to Education Act.
“Why Sibal forgot memorials,parks and museums named after Nehru-Gandhi family members on which several crores of rupees is spent for their maintenance every year”,she said in a statement.
The total of UP budget was Rs 1.23 lakh crore last year and this financial year it was Rs 1.53 lakh crore.
