Former BJP general secretary Sanjay Joshi in Gujarat on ‘courtesy call’

Former BJP general secretary Sanjay Joshi was in Ahmedabad on Sunday to meet old party colleagues and attend a couple of weddings in the city. Joshi returned to Delhi in the night.

He also met former state Health Minister Jay Narayan Vyas in the afternoon for about 15 minutes along with his friends. “We had a chat for some time and it was a courtesy call only,” Joshi said.

When asked, if Joshi was here to play mediator between the Patidar leaders and the government, Vyas said he did not see any such role. “I

categorically deny that Joshi was here to play any such intermediary role in the ongoing problem…it is a coincidence that he happens to be in the state on a day like this,” Vyas said of Joshi’s visit.

Earlier in the day, Joshi visited senior leader Dattaji Chirandas.

Meanwhile, state BJP president Vijay Rupani said he was not aware of Joshi’s visit to Ahmedabad.
