Two BSF personnel were killed in an IED blast in the Pakhanjur subdivision of Kanker district of Chhattisgarh on Monday evening. Senior police officials said that a team was on an area domination exercise when the IED explosed seven kilometers south of the Marbeda camp.

When the jawans were near Talpedi, Maoists triggered an IED blast in which two jawans were injured. They succumbed to their injuries by the time they were brought back to the camp. The bodies will be brought to the distrct headquarters by the night and then sent to their home districts tomorrow morning.”

Dhruv said that they had received information of movement on the Chhattisgath Maharashtra border. “On the border area, there is movement generally of the Maoist Kasansur Local Operating Squad. So based on movement we had sent a team on area domination, but the Maoists targeted the jawans when they were on their motorcycles,” he said.
