About 17 lakh state government employees had been asked to submit the details of their properties for the financial year 2023-2024 on the Manav Sampada portal at www.ehrms.upsdc.gov.in by the end of May this year. (File)Two days after the salaries of about 30 per cent of Uttar Pradesh government employees were stopped following their failure to upload details of their immovable and movable assets on the ‘Manav Sampada’ portal, the state government, on the request of the employees, decided to extend the deadline yet again, by a month. The employees now have till September end to comply with the order.
About 17 lakh state government employees had been asked to submit the details of their properties for the financial year 2023-2024 on the Manav Sampada portal at http://www.ehrms.upsdc.gov.in by the end of May this year. However, with only a few employees complying, the deadline was extended till June end, and then till August end.
While the June 6 government order had warned employees that their promotions would be affected if they did not submit these details, an August 17 order warned employees that their salaries would be stopped if they did not comply. On August 30, a reminder letter was sent to all departments concerned, warning about the same, and informing that Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officials were exempted as they had to upload their details on another portal i.e. ‘Sparrow’.
However, despite the warning, officials said that about 30 per cent of the employees still failed to upload their details and thus their salaries were stopped. The employees’ association then requested the government to consider extending the deadline for one more month and the government agreed.
“The last date for government employees to submit property details (has been) extended by one month. Till now, 73 per cent have submitted their details,” informed Shishir Singh, Director, Information, Uttar Pradesh Government.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Rakesh Kumar Singh, General Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh State Employees Mahasangh, said, “It is a step which is being taken for the first time. Many employees, especially teachers, were busy with election duty and other work. Considering all this, we requested the chief secretary to consider giving some more time.”
