The qualified candidates: A total of 36,614 of general category, 84,868 of other backward class category, 24,308 belonging to Scheduled Caste and 270 candidates from Scheduled Tribe category.
The written exam amounts for 60 per cent of the weightage of the merit list. Now candidates will be further shortlisted based on class 10, 12, graduation, and qualifying exam marks with 10 per cent weightage each. Now, all-inclusive mark sheet will be created. These candidates will have to undergo the document verification process. Selected candidates will get offer letters from the government.
Of the selected 1.4 lakh candidates most (97,368) are BEd qualified candidates followed by 38,618 candidates who are DElEd pass. Furter 8018 are para-teachers and results are from other educational backgrounds, as per reports.
Over the 4.1 lakh who registered for the exam, only 1.4 lakh have been able to qualify the exam. Now, the qualified candidates will be shortlisted based on merit, and merit is created by more than just marks obtained in this exam. Class 10 to BEd/ DElEd level marks are also included

The merit list will not only include the marks obtained in the recruitment exam but 10 per cent marks of weightage is also given to marks obtained in class 10, 12, graduation, and qualifying exam (DElEd or BEd).
Since three questions in the final answer key are deleted. Now the merit can be expected on the basis of 147 marks instead of 150. Thus, candidates have to score 65 (or 60 for reserved category) from 147 marks.
The 2 hours 30 minutes exam was held in January and marks are to be given out of 150. The questions were MCQ-based. The exam consisted of class 12 level English, Hindi, mathematics, environmental science, and social science. It also had teaching ability, child psychology, teaching methodology etc related topics at the level of DElEd.
In the final answer key released by the UP Basic Education Board earlier, a couple of questions were left blank. This means that an error was spotted in these questions. A chance was given to candidates to raise objects against the preliminary answer key and the final answer key has those changes. The result is based on final answer key. Thus, marks would be compensated to all for these answers, as per the rules.
The government hiked eligibility to cut-off to 65 per cent from 45 per cent (for reserved category candidates the same was up from 40 per cent to 60 per cent). If reports are to be believed then over 4.3 lakh candidates had applied for the exam of which 3.8 lakh appeared for the test. The final answer key for these candidates was released last week and the result will be based on the answer key. Candidates can, in the meanwhile, check the answer key and estimate their marks.
While the official website is upbasiceduboard.gov.in the result will also be out at the UPTET website upbasiceduboard.gov.in. Candidates have to log-in to the website and click on the result link. The link is not yet available and is expected to be out anytime soon.
The UP Basic Education Board is expected to declare the result today on May 12. The result will be for the exam held in January. As many as 69,000 posts are to be filled through this recruitment exam.
