India adds close to 27 million children to its population ever year and 20 – 30 % of them face difficulty in school ranging from mild behavioral or emotional problems to ADHD,Dyslexia,Cerebral Palsy,Intellectual Disability and Autism. The only remedy is to train the school teachers and doctors in the best possible manner to be sensitive and aware of these issues. The module covers topics like discipline, media literacy, interpersonal relationships, behavioral problems during adolescence, substance and drug abuse, issues of sexuality and unique experiences of parents and teachers. This training will assist teachers, doctors and parents to address problems related to adolescent medicine, child growth and development, disability prevention and child psychology.

“Parenting Skills are the most neglected and poorly understood aspect of child rearing. All children face some or the other stress during the course of their education. Our stalwarts had been working for many years to create a program that targets school teachers and parents to deal with the problems of adolescent behavior. We have finally come out with its protocol and have developed the Full Module on Parenting”,explains Dr. Deepak Ugra,President of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics.

“Lack of social values, increasing cases of pre-marital sex and drug abuse among adolescents, conflicts between parents and teachers has become very common today. This education program will help deal with these problems”,says Dr. Atul Agarwal,Vice-President of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics.
