Happy Guru Purnima 2023 Wishes Images, Messages, Status, Photos, Quotes: Guru Purnima is an auspicious event in the Buddhist, Hindu, and even Jain calendars. This day celebrates the guru-shishya relations across India, Nepal, and Bhutan. It falls on July 3 in 2023, on the first full moon day since the summer solstice. According to the Hindu calendar, it falls during the month of Ashadha, or from July to August. 

It is primarily a day marked for students to express their reverence towards their teachers. However, Guru Purnima also highlights the importance of the knowledge that a teacher shares with students. In Ancient Indian culture, a ‘guru’ was considered the spiritual and academic guide of a person. As such, teachers were held in high regard and students were expected to even hold prayers or fasts for them during Guru Purnima. 

Today, it is often seen as a traditional day dedicated to teachers. In Nepal, Guru Purnima is even recognised as the official Teacher’s Day. Sending a message to your teacher on this auspicious occasion will help in strengthening the bond.
