A shocking HR blunder leads to mass terminations (Source: Freepik)A shocking blunder by an HR team resulted in their termination after their automated system mistakenly rejected all job applications, including those of their manager. The incident highlighted the frustration many job seekers experience when applying for positions and receiving immediate rejections without their applications ever being reviewed.
One manager, who shared his experience on Reddit, described how “auto rejection systems from HR are a joke.” “In three months, we couldn’t find a single qualified candidate.”

Determined to uncover the root of the problem, the manager created a new email and sent a modified version of his resume under a fake name. To his dismay, he was also automatically rejected without any human review of his qualifications. After reporting the issue to upper management, “half of the HR department was fired in the following weeks,” he noted.
“The truly infuriating part was that I was consistently told they had candidates who didn’t pass the first screening process, which was false,” the manager remarked.

The manager was attempting to hire developers. However, the HR department had mistakenly configured the automated system to search for candidates with expertise in the wrong software. They were seeking an AngularJS developer, while the position actually required expertise in Angular, a distinct framework.
The incident quickly gained widespread attention on social media, with users expressing a range of reactions. Some criticised the recruiting team for being “lazy,” while others expressed sympathy for the manager. One user commented, “This is why automated systems should never fully replace human judgment,” while another added, “HR should be more vigilant; this is embarrassing for the company.”
