Two persons were killed as fresh violence broke out in this town on Saturday despite curfew and deployment of paramilitary and RAF. In view of the violence, DGP Yashpal Singh issued shoot-at-sight orders.

The administration has banned the entry of any political leaders in the town after some political parties decided to send fact-finding teams here.

More than 112 people have been arrested in connection with the riots on Thursday night over Dussehra festivities.

According to eye-witness reports, rioters and anti-social elements fired bullets and looted properties in certain areas.

Principal Secretary (Home) Alok Sinha said peace committees would be activated and locals would be involved in restoration of normalcy. —PTI
