VADODARA, APRIL 30: Additional Director General of Gujarat Police A K Bhargava has exhorted the police personnel to be more public-friendly and learn to use all modern equipment.

He said this while addressing a gathering at the convocation ceremony to felicitate the passing out parade of the 238th batch of the Police Training School here on Thursday. About 990 constables were awarded certificates for their eight-month training at the PTS.

The role of police had changed a great deal today, he said adding that their image, which had been formed during the British rule, had to change. He also emphasised the need to improve the training techniques for the police personnel.

He, however, appreciated the audio-video aids of the PTS through which training were imparted to the police personnel. He asked the new recruits to be impartial, selfless and humane in handling assignments.

Outstanding constables Ramesh Jhala, Chetanpuri Gosai, Dilipsinh Shekhawat, Bipin Khodani, Gemarsinh Chaudhary, Hemant Lad, Santoshprasad Pathak, Idris Khan, Mukesh Modi, Jaswantsinh Vaghela, Mahendra Kumar and Manubhai Baria were honoured by Bhargava for their meritorious performances in different streams during the training.
