3-day BBMB seminar opens

NANGAL, Oct 12: A three-day seminar on Control of Hydraulic Gates in Water Resources Projects began here today. It is being organised by Bhakra Beas Management Board in association with Central Board of Irrigation and Power, Indian Committee on Large Dams and Geographical Committee of IWRA (Indian), a press release said.

Maj. Gen R R Oberoi, Chairman, BBMB inaugurated the seminar while R N Agrawal, member, irrigation, BBMB presided over the function.

Papers were presented by eminent engineers on the importance and variety of hydraulic gates used in the hydro power projects. This technical seminar is aimed at guiding and educating the engineers. K K Julka, former director, BBMB delivered the keynote address.
