
A top Harkat-Ul-Jehadi Islami terrorist, involved in the killing of four policemen in Doda last week, was among three militants of the outfit killed in two separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir since last night, official sources said today.
Area commander of Huji, Bahir Ahmed alias Abu Sartaj, and another militant of the outfit Salim Alias, were killed in an encounter in Morcha Dhar forest belt in Doda district last night.
Both were local residents and were involved in the killing of four policemen in the outskirts of Doda on July 20, the sources said, adding that an AK rifle and 303 rifles, that had been snatched from the policemen, were recovered from the encounter site.
Other recoveries made from the site include four IEDs, 20 electric detonators, 18 rounds of 303 rifle and three grenades, they said. In Barthi Nallah area of the district this morning, another Huji militant was killed in an encounter and some arms and ammunition were seized. Elsewhere, militants set ablaze the house of one Nawaz Ali and his brother Dilawar, a special police officer with Army, in Khanter area of Poonch district this morning.
Meanwhile, troops scuttled two infiltration attempts since last night. A CRPF jawan was killed and two of his colleagues were injured when militants attacked a security camp at Hissipora in Budgam district.
