NEW DELHI, July 15: The highly decomposed body of a three-and-a-half-year boy was recovered from a water tank in Rohini today.

Mehar, the son of Rohini resident Ramesh Seth was missing since 9 a.m. on July 12. His parents, who live in Savera Apartments at Sector 13 in Rohini lodged a missing person’s report the same day.

On July 13, the case was converted into one of kidnapping after a First information Report was filed. However, the police said that the parents didn’t suspect anyone.

Today, a water tank in the area was searched after residents said a foul smell was emanating from it. The police said that the “highly-putrified” body of a boy was fished out from the tank.

It has been identified as Mehar’s. A post-mortem report is now awaited to ascertain the exact cause of the death.

The police said that the Seths still can’t name any possible suspects. However, depending on the results of the post-mortem report the case will be changed accordingly.
