CHENNAI, June 19: The Government of India has sent an elephantine gift to neighbouring Sri Lanka – a baby tusker. The five-year-old pachyderm was selected by the High Priest of Dalada Maligawa, a Buddhist Relic Temple at Kandy, when he recently visited India. Chamarajendra will take part in the annual procession of Buddhist relics of the Dalada Maligawa, along with 50 other elephants. He has been shipped to Sri Lanka through the Container Terminal at Chennai Port.
