Infosys CEO Nandan Nilekani has found yet another admirer in Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia. Speaking at the 5th CII Construction Summit, Ahluwalia singled out Nilekani for rare praise for his work in Bangalore. Calling out to urban cities to raise their own revenue for infrastructure projects and to initiate mechanisms for good governance and transparency of municipal accounts, Ahluwalia referred to the Bangalore Agenda Task Force (BATF) set up in the year 2000. Termed as the first success story in public private partnerships in urban governance, the high profile forum headed by the Infosys CEO has implemented over 87 projects. Works perfectly for the Planning Commission with its focus on PPP, and the precious funds saved for rural infrastructure.
