Sangli, Nov 19: World under-18 champion Aarthie Ramaswamy of Tamil Nadu defeated Baisakhi Das to join Saheli Dhar-Barua (Eastern Railway) in the lead with six points at the end of seventh round of the 26th National B Women’s Chess Championship on Friday.

Saheli agreed to a quick draw with IWM Pallavi Shah (LIC).

S Meenakshi (TN) overcame five time National champion Anupama Gokhale (BPCL) in the most absorbing game of the seventh round.

Pallavi Shah and Meenakshi are half-a-point adrift of the leaders.

Mrunalini Kunte (IDBI), Kiran Agarwal, Baisakhi Das, Nisha Mohota (WB), Neha Singh (Bih) and S Sujatha (TN), with five points, occupy the third spot.
