NEW DELHI, November 20: ABN Amro Bank Equisport defeated Sehgal Stud-Kashmir 6-2 1/2, 61 Cavalry `A' downed Jodhpur-Kashmir 9-5 1/2, Aravali Polo beat Teachers 7 1/2-2 and Jindal Steel & Power won over 61 Cavalry `B' 6-3 in the quarter-final matches of the ABN Amro Bank Bhopal-Pataudi Cup tournament at the Jaipur Polo ground here today.The host team, which conceded 1 1/1 goal handicap to Sehgal Stud-Kashmir, started with a bang to strike two goals in each of the first three chukkers while the lone goal came from their opponents in the last chukker with the hosts not pressing too much.Ajit Singh (3), Samarth Shergill, Uday Kalaan and Manupal Godara were the scorers for Amro Bank while the consolation goal was struck by Southwell for Stud-Kashmir.In the first one-sided matche, for 61 Cavalry `A' Pinka Virk (3), A.S. Randhava, Ajay Ahlawat and Tarun Sirohi (3) scored while for Jodhpur-Kashmir Roddy Williams (3) and Jaisal Singh struck.In the second match, Aravali team toyed with Teachers and Vishal Singh struck five times while B.P. Singh accounted for the other goal for the winners. For the losers, who started with 1 1/2 goal handicap, Jai Shergill and Howard Hipwood scored once each in the fourth chukker.In the third match, for Jindal Steel Samir Suhag and Lokendra scored three each in the last chukker in the keenly contested game.
