Rebel BJP MP Yogi Adityanath is now unhappy with the fact that the list of his supporters was made public by the party even as the two sides continued to hold talks to negotiate a compromise over the distribution of tickets for the Uttar Pradesh elections.

Adityanath, who had threatened to resign from the party and field his own candidates against the BJP, today said it was for the party to take a stand on the issues raised by him. “The ball is in their court now. We have been talking and I am hopeful that some solution would come out soon,” said the MP from Gorakhpur.

He said in his meetings with Central leaders he had raised the issue of his list being made public by the party. “It is a breach of trust. It should not have happened.”

“Anyway, I have given them the list today. It is now for them to decide and take some action.” Adityanath did not reveal how many names the list contained. “That is not very important. My main concern is that anti-Hindu and criminal elements should not be allowed by the party to contest elections in UP. I have made that clear in my discussions with the leaders here. I have been assured that my views would be considered,” he said.

Adityanath had yesterday met senior leader L K Advani who managed to mollify the sulking leader and convinced him not to leave the party.
