BHIWANI, June 2: The janata darbar organised in at the district headquarters on every Monday is attracting more and more people for the redressal of their grievances.

In yesterday’s janata darbar, 20 complaints were registered and about 150 persons came in the darbar to air their grievances before the district officers.

Bombdi Devi, widow of Lachman, who was running from from pillar to post heaved a sigh of at the janata darbar. Somebody had played a fraud on her in the matter of her land. But her complaint in the janata darbar drew an immediate response from Krishan Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Bhiwani. He instructed the District Revenue Officer to make enquiries into the matter and restore the land to the aggrieved widow.

There were numerous other complaints of encroachment on private and panchayat lands, shortage of power and drinking water. The villagers of village Singhvi complained against the quack doctors who were playing with their life. The villagers alleged in their complaint that charlatans were minting money with impunity and spurious drugs were being distributed with aplomb.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Civil Surgeon, Bhiwani, to take action against the quacks.

KURUKSHETRA: All the aged people, widowed women and handicapped in the district would be granted a pension of Rs. 100 per month by June 5, under the scheme of the state government.

Giving this information here today, Deputy Commissioner T. S. S. N. Prasad disclosed that those left out would be given the pension on June 6-7 through tehsils sub-tehsils and the office of municipal councils.
