CALCUTTA, NOV 25: An Afghan air passenger was today detained with 12 falcons at the N S C Bose International Airport here for non-possession of valid documents, airport sources said.

The passenger, identified as Jamshed Shah Mahmood, was to take a Royal Brunei flight to Dubai when an Air-India securityman detected the falcons he was carrying with him and immediately reported the matter to the authorities.

The sources said that the passenger and the falcons were being held at the airport.
