Praise for Indian golf and the excellent playing conditions continued to pour in, as they are constantly getting better, according to South African Hendrik Buhrmann. ‘‘The course has been getting better each year and has really improved over the years,’’ said Hendrik, who agrees that the Delhi Golf Course is playing better than ever before.‘‘It is small things like more grass on the fairways - which allows you to control the ball better - and less grain on the greens, but all important things that result in excellent playing conditions.’’ He also feels that, ‘‘as players strive to get better, the quality of the golf courses also improves and vice versa.’’Gaurav Ghei, who carded a six-under, 66 on his home course today also appreciated the greens, saying: ‘‘the course is playing well and greens are rolling true, so if a player is stroking it well he can hole a lot of putts.’’ However, Arjun Atwal struggled with the greens, saying: ‘‘I found the greens very grainy and slow and made 36-putts today.’’Back in the clubhouse, all the professionals playing the tournament have put their signatures on a massive board placed at the Delhi Golf Club’s annex to promote ‘World Peace through Sports’. Jyoti Randhawa and Arjun Atwal got to sign up numerous times - for the lensmen - but the players were so preoccupied with their games and the action on the 18th green that they had not even noticed the board, until they were told to sign it. Now, thats good concentration.
