Newly-appointed president of All India Management Association (Aima) and former Ficci President Sudhir Jalan plans to restructure their advanced management programme.
‘‘AIMA shall have a joint programme with universities of Stanford, Kellog and Wharton. Earlier, for three years in a row we conducted this course along with the Tatas, and we had a tie-up with Harvard University,’’ said Jalan.
It is a seven-day certificate programme conducted every year and 25 per cent of the seats are filled up with sponsored candidates from public sector organisations, such as National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and Bhel apart from sponsored candidates from private organisations. The certificate course costs about Rs 2 lakh.
Jalan is allowed to appoint 10 persons on the AIMA board and he is taking on on board Rajan Mittal of Bharati Amit Mitra of Ficci, Noel Tata and Venu Srinivasan of TVS, Orissa industrialist Subrata Panda among others.
He plans to activate the distance-learning programme of AIMA in a big way introducing video conferencing and convergence.
