VADODARA, June 29: Even as rail and air traffic limped back to normal in Vadodara, all rural and urban parts of the district received moderate showers on Monday.
While Vadodara city received 18.8 mm in the 24 hours ending 8.30 a.m. on Monday, scanty or moderate rains were forecast for some parts of Central Gujarat for the next 24 hours. Heavy rains have also been forecast for various parts of Kutch, Saurashtra and north and South Gujarat, besides Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu during the same period.
In the rural areas of the district, Karjan recorded 7.5 mm while it has received a total of 194 mm rainfall so far. Dabhoi received 5 mm (total 86 mm), Naswadi, 2.5 mm (68 mm), Padra 1.5 mm (42 mm), Vadodara rural 5 mm (123 mm), Waghodia 2.5 mm (68 mm), Shinor 6.5 mm (165 mm), Sankheda 2 mm (60 mm), Kwant 6 mm (155 mm), Jetpurpavi, 3.5 mm (86 mm), Chhotaudepur 4 mm (101 mm) and Savli 3.5 mm (85 mm).
According to official information, water levels in all the rivers and ponds in and around district were far below the danger point.
There was no report of any untoward incidents from any parts of the district, though, power cuts attributed to minor rain-related snags were reported from several parts of the city in the past 24 hours.
