DECEMBER 17: St Joseph’s, Bandra student Akanksha Gupta won the Long jump event in the Girls midgets group at the Thumps-Up 104th Annnual Inter School Athletic Championships being conducted at the MSSA Castrol Ground, Azad Maidan today.
In the final she jumped a distance of 3.02 metres to finish ahead of Warisha Khan and Candida Lewis. Anurag M Lahankar of Balmohan Vidyamandir won the same event in the boys midgets group.

Boys Midgets Long jump: Anurag M Lahankar (Balmohan Vidyamandir) 3.02m; Suvarna R Raju (St Francis D’Assisi) 2.84; Mikhail Shetty (OLPS, Chembur) 2.76
Girls Sub-Juniors Long jump: Purva Kanwinde (Canossa, Mahim) 3.86; Caryn Mendes (St Joseph’s, Bandra) 3.33; Bhavini Gala (St Joseph’s, Juhu) 3.23.Girls Midgets Long jump: Akanksha Gupta (St Joseph’s, Bandra) 2.47; Warisha Khan (St Agnes, Byculla) 2.32; Candida Lewis (St Joseph’s, Juhu) 2.31.
