In a political move that will embarrass the CPI(M) and other partners of the Left Front government in West Bengal who ‘‘are getting closer to the Centre on Bangladeshi issue,’’ the All India Forward Bloc (AIFB) today decided to hold a demonstration outside Parliament next Monday to protest against the ‘‘BSF atrocities on the people living in the border area.’’ The AIFB had also decided to send an open letter to Prime Minister A.B. Vajpayee listing the difficulties the border area people face due to the BSF ‘‘atrocities’’. Releasing the letter, LF minister and AIFB chairman Kamal Guha accused the state government for not doing enough to mitigate the troubles of the affected people. Bangladeshis still stranded SILIGURI: The BSF have reinforced their positions after the border guards of Bangladesh did so, while six Bangladeshis, including a family of five, continued to remain stranded for the third day on Friday on no man’s land at Dakshinpara in West Bengal’s Dakshin Dinajpur district. The six, including a woman and two children, were pushed on to Indian soil in Hili subdivision by the Bangladesh Border Guards on Wednesday evening, Addl District Magistrate Gautam Ghosh said. (PTI) BSF officials refused to react to the charges saying: ‘‘It’s not possible for us to react to every allegations.’’ However, this has put both the state government and the CPI(M) in an uncomfortable situation. For Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya has been speaking on the ‘‘Bangladesh-based ISI threat and infiltration.’’ When asked if the AIFB had spoken to Buddha, Guha said: ‘‘It was a discussion with the CM and not just a CPI (M) leader.’’
