CHANDIGARH, Nov 16: Amit’s fine half century (68 runs off 56 balls) enabled LIC XI to beat JAL XI by 25 runs to lift the trophy in the Shine Star cricket tournament held at Govt School in Sector 27.

JAL XI won the toss and elected to field. Amit (68) and Dinesh (23) helped their team pile up 194 in the allotted 25 overs for the loss of eight wickets.

Ajay and Sandeep got two wickets each for JAL XI.

JAL XI’s Jasbinder 90 runs off 53 balls, however, came to a naught when other batsmen failed to face the rival bowlers and the team was back to the pavilion in the 22nd over for 169.

Brief scores LIC XI: 194 for 8 in 25 overs (Amit 68, Dinesh 23, Lalit 19, Ajay 2 for 29, Sandeep 2 for 18); JAL XI: 169 in 22 overs (Jasbinder 90, Ajay 14, Chandan 3 for 28, Amrinder 2 for 35).
