BANGALORE, FEB 12: Inderjit Bhalotia of Calcutta hogged the limelight with a scintillating five under 67 while Amritinder Singh of Chandigarh shot into the top spot with an aggregate of 140 after returning with two-under score at the end of two rounds in the Classic Masters Golf Tournament at Karnataka Golf Assocaition Course here today.Overnight leader Jyoti Randhawa of Meerut and Bhalotia were the joint second with one stroke behind at 141. In the third place were favourite Arjun Atwal of Calcutta and Feroz Ali, also of Calcutta, with 142.In the amateurs section, Gaurav Diwan was in the first spot with a total of 153 and was followed by Amitab Poddar with 153.Amritinder said: ``I reached greens as many as 17 times today with regulation shots and completed the round in 32 putts.''He hit a birdie on the very first hole and on his return fired three more birdies on the 14th, 15th and 16th holes narrowly missing the 17th. His error was when he hit over on the fifth and later on the 12th hole andfinished the day with a two-under card of 70. He had cut the identical card yesterday as he trailed Arjun Singh and Jyoti.Bhalotia, winner of the Cromption Greaves matchplay last month in Mumbai who had a sluggish start yesterday with a two-over card was at his best in his second round. He had two birdies in the outward journey and dazzled with four on the return. He had birdies in the 3rd, 9th, 12th, 14th, 16th and 18th holes to jump to the second place. His only loss of stroke was in the sixth hole when he hit one over.Fourtysix players made the cut after 36-hole two-round which was applied at 9-over 153.
