CHANDIGARH, NOV 20: It doesn’t get more exciting than this. In the second Hero Golf-sponsored event of the season, Chandigarh’s Amritinder Singh went on to achieve what Jyoti Randhawa did three weeks ago – successfully defend his title. And he did it the hard way, with a birdie on the first playoff hole to win the Hero Golf Chandigarh Open.

Amritinder, a sports officer with Bharat Petroleum, started the day with three incredible birdies in the front nine. He went on to drop his first shot of the day on the 15th, a hole that he has bogeyed everyday. But at six-under-par for the tournament, he was still in the lead. Unfortunately, a three putt on the 17th left him tied for the lead with Gaurav Ghei, who birdied the 10th, 13th, 16th and 18th to finish at five-under.

Playing the 18th once again in the playoff, Gaurav hit his ball left of the pin while Amritinder hit it eight feet past. Gaurav proceeded to putt first and ran it past the hole, while Amritinder, went for his putt and made it to clinch the titleyet again.
