CALCUTTA, SEPT 16: Seasoned footballer Jo Paul Ancheri will lead the 20-member Indian football team for the forthcoming SAF Games to be held in Kathmandu from September 25 to October four.

The mercurial IM Vijayan, Bruno Coutinho and Raman Vijayan were the three main strikers named in the team announced by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) here today.

Mohun Bagan striker Dipendu Biswas, former captain Carlton Chapman and Reazul Islam, who were in the list of probables, have been omitted from the team which would be trying to defend the title it won in the last SAF Games in Chennai.

The team, which is currently undergoing training at Patiala under chief coach Sukhwinder Singh, would leave for Kathmandu on September 23 from New Delhi.

Virender Singh, Prasanta Dora, Kalyan Choubey, Prabhjot Singh, Robert Fernandes, Deepak Mandal, Daljit Singh, Mahesh Gawli, Jules Robert, Ranjan Dey, Basudeb Mondal, Hardeep Sangha, Bruno Coutinho, IM Vijayan, Jo Paul Ancheri (captain), Raman Vijayan, Dhanesh KV, Noel Wilson, Sabir Pasha and Mohd Nazib.
