Silver soared to to a 27 year high of $19.36 an ounce in the global bullion markets on Wednesday. It also zoomed past all previous records in India. The white metal gained the most in Chennai (up by Rs 1,530 to Rs 25,440 per kg), followed by Mumbai adding Rs 1,120 at Rs 23,765 per kg. In Delhi and Kolkata, it spurted by Rs 1,200 each to Rs 23,600 and Rs 23,300 respectively.
