Besides power and telecom, Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Enterprises will invest heavily in financial services including banking and for creating infrastructure in the company.

Anil is investing Rs 1,000 crore in Reliance Energy and Rs 2,000 crore of his own money. He did not answer whether he received this Rs 3,000 crore as severance cash.

Ambani told reporters that Reliance Capital is presently nowhere in the financial services sector. ‘‘I aim to bring it on top 3 by offering all kinds of services including banking,’’ he said.

Customer care, corporate governance and creativity and competitiveness will be mantra for Anil Ambani group companies. ‘‘This is my vision for Reliance Energy and Reliance Capital,’’ Ambani.

In REL’s annual energy meeting, Ambani had announced investments of Rs 70,000 crore in new power projects in the country.

A day after severing ties with his elder brother, he added infrastructure in his priority list.

‘‘I am very very bullish about India. Strong infrastructure creation will be our focus area,’’ he said.

Anil listed Mumbai and Delhi airports, trans-harbour bridge project and Mumbai Urban Transportation Project as the three projects where Reliance has bid and has been shortlisted. ‘‘We will bid for all those infrastructure projects, which are viable,’’ he said.

Anil chose to pacify his employees also. ‘‘The top management at Reliance Infocomm will not be changed. They have done an excellent job and I aim to retain them,’’ Ambani said.

Why the split?

MUMBAI: When asked why he split with his elder brother, Anil Ambani said the matters had come to a stage where it was necessary. ‘‘It was an issue which needed to be addressed. Both of us played an very important role in creating what Reliance Industries is today and we left on a very cordial note,’’ Ambani said. — ENS
