Senior Hurriyat Conference leader Mohammad Yousuf Mujahid was today released after more than two years in detention under Public Safety Act as part of PDP-Congress government’s policy to set free detenues who were not involved in henious crimes, official sources said.
Mujahid, personal secretary to Jamaat-e-Islami leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, was released from Ram Munshibagh police station in Srinagar where he was shifted last month.

Mujahid, who was arrested on March 17, 2001, served jail term in Kotbalwal Jail in Jammu and Sangroor in Punjab His term under PSA expired six months back.
