Another jailbird arrested

PUNE, Sept 29: A youth, who was among the 15 undertrials who escaped from a van carrying them from the district and sessions court in Shivajinagar to Yerawada jail on September 10, was re-arrested in Ganesh Peth this afternoon. Samir Shrikant Nanajkar alias Sameer Ismail Shaikh from Latur, was loitering near Alpana cinema when he was held by a four-member police team led by assistant police inspector Marutrao Tate from Faraskhana police station.

During interrogation, Nanajkar said he had gone to Thane, Kurduwadi and Latur after escaping. He stayed at Chikhali for a couple of days. Nanajkar was arrested in 1994 for thefts.
