Another state transport bus mishap claims one

A day after the Bodeli bus accident, another bus of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) met with an accident, killing one and injuring 40, in the neighbouring Panchmahals district on Thursday.

The accident occurred in the afternoon when the ST bus collided with a truck near Barela village, on its way to Jhalod from Ahmedabad. According to the Santrampur police, one person, belonging to Shehra taluka, died on the spot. The injured, including both the drivers, were rushed to the Godhra Civil Hospital. The police said that while 28 injured were admitted to the civil hospital, four critically injured victims were referred to the SSG Hospital, Vadodara. Some reports said the number of injured could be around 70.
