MUMBAI, APRIL 1: The Apollo Hospitals, which currently has a diagnostic centre in the city, is now planning to start its own hospital here. Plans are being made to start the project soon.

Revealing the plans at a press conference on Friday, Dr P S Soni, consultant cardiologist attached to Apollo Clinic, said the hospital will have several unique diagnostic facilities and latest treatment techniques for various skin conditions and heart problems.

Dr Soni said in the diagnostic centre, located at Kala Ghoda, there are about 72 consultants covering the entire range of medicine and use of latest equipment for diagnosing any ailment.

They also have a modern pathology laboratory that conducts various blood and urine tests with great accuracy thus helping in accurate diagnosis of the disease, he points out. And those requiring hospitalisation are referred to various private hospitals in the city, he adds.

Skin consultant Dr Satish Bhatia has been curing various skin problems with the use of a technique known as `microderma abrasion’, in which scars left due to small pox, pimples and even wrinkles can be removed. This procedure in done on an OPD basis and the cost is much less than doing the same procedure by plastic surgery, he explained.
